Are you aged between 18 and 35? Would you like to travel, study and/or work abroad?

Each year, the International Experience Canada offers young Chileans the opportunity to work, study, and travel anywhere in Canada for up to one year. It's a great way of getting to know Canada, learning a new language, and making new friends!

There are new 350 work permits available up until December 31st, 2010 for Chilean youth to go to Canada under the International Experience Canada . There are four different categories under which you may apply and it is important that you indicate which of these categories you are applying under since different criteria apply. The four categories are:

  • Working Holiday: This category applies to youth who wish to stay in Canada for tourism and cultural discovery while being authorized to work on an occasional basis in order to supplement their financial resources. This category also includes youth who would like to study English or French in Canada before travelling or working.

  • Internships: This category applies to youth who wish to complete an internship under a contract of employment in a business in Canada as part of their studies or training.

  • Supplementary graduate training: This category applies to university or college graduates who wish to broaden their work experience through a work contract in Canada and increase their knowledge of the languages, society and culture of Canada.

  • Inter-institutional work-study agreement: This category applies to university or college students who wish to complete part of their curriculum in an institution in Canada as part of a work-study agreement.

Note: however, that you are not allowed to study for more than six months under any of this categories.
